Procedure to Get the Birth Certificate in Kerala

You have to provide some of the required information at the time of registration such as the date of birth, city and place of birth of child. The citizens of Kerala State can follow two procedures for obtaining their birth certificate. The applicants can get the online information and application form through the local self governance under the Kerala state government which is a initiative of e-Governance program. The citizens also can check the all the records of recent birth in the state through the official website of SEVANA.

(1) First visit to the official website at http://cr.lsgkerala.gov.in where first you have to search the name of the child if you registered it before through any of the department or by the hospital. The department and information technology team uploaded all the data and records related to the births in state on the online portal.

(2) In case it is showing that the child registration is available then you have to give some of the basic information such as the child name, gender, date of birth, father’s & Mother’s name etc. After that you can get the option of Word Verification which will redirect you in a new page.

(3) Then click on View button and click on “Print” option for printing the birth certificate in kerala.

(4) In case your child’s information is not available on the online website in that case you will have to visit in the nearest concerned department/ registrar office. This service is also available through the Municipal Corporation office/ Municipality/ panchayat office. (5) Here you have to get the prescribed application form format and have to fill it with the complete information such as child name, father’s name, Mother’s name, place of birth, date of birth etc. After filling the application form you have to submit it in the same office.

(6) You also have to affix the stamp paper of Rs. 20/- and have to pay the court stamp fee of Rs. 1/- with the application form. Make sure that you had affixed both of required tings because without these your application would be rejected.

(7) After some time you will get the date of availability of birth certificate. The process completed within a week, if all the documents and papers found correct in the verification.

(8) To obtain the birth certificate you must have to attached the documents with application form viz. proof of date of birth, place, parent’s name identity etc. and submit the fee as per following

(a) Registration within 21 days – Free

(b) Registration between 21 to 30 days – Rs. 2/-

(c) Registration between 30 days to 1 year – Rs. 5/-

(d) Registration after 1 year – Rs. 10/-
