How to obtained Birth Certificate from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation
Birth Certificate from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation – Birth events which take place in areas within the jurisdiction of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation i.e. AMC is being registered at the respective Wards under the Birth and Death Registration Act, 1969. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has 64 election wards and each election ward has a separate Birth and Dealth Registration Unit. Apart from this, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation also has two separate Birth and Death units at V.S. Hospital and Civil Hospital which are also register Birth and Death events taking place at those hospitals. Under Birth and Death Registration Act, 1969 it has been made compulsory to register the event within 21 days of occurrence. After that period registration is done as per the late registration procedure.
Birth Registration Late Fees –
(1) After 21 days to 30 days, event is registered by paying Rs. 2 as late fee.
(2) From one month to one year,event is registered by paying Rs. 5 as late fee & submitting affidavit.
(3) After one year, even is registered only after the court order of first class judicial magistrate and Rs. 10 late fee is charged in that case.
First copy is issued free of cost to applicant at concerned ward office. Citizen can get more certified laminated computerized copies from any City Civic Center after paying Rs. 50 per copy.
If period is more than one year of the occurrence of birth/death, one has to apply in prescribed format alongwith adequate fee receipt, evidences and original court affidavit for getting “NO RECORD CERTIFICATE”. Along with this certificate, and other required documents one has to get court orders from the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court. These orders are to be submitted to the registrar birth/Deaths along with fee receipt, for registering birth/death and getting the certificate of registration.
